The National Forum of People with Learning Disabilities are focussed on three priority areas. These have been decided by members of the forum.
The three priorities are:
- Having a voice
- Changes to benefits
- Keeping safe
Alongside these priorities we are doing some work in response to the Mazars Report.
The Mazars Report looked at the deaths of people with learning disabilities in the care of Southern Health.
We feel strongly that the lives of all people with learning disabilities matter.
We are very concerned that no one is taking responsibility following the death of Connor Sparrowhawk in the bath whilst he was being treated by Southern Health. We are working with the self-advocacy group 'My Life My Choice' to raise this issue and to ask why nothing is happening.
