Who we are
The National Forum of People with Learning Disabilities was set up at the time of Valuing People.
All members of the forum were people with a learning disability.
Valuing People was a big plan to improve the lives of people with learning disabilities and their families. The Government wanted to hear about what was happening from people with learning disabilities across England.
The forum was made up of representatives from each of the 9 regions in England.
A representative for people with complex needs was also part of the forum.
Here is our film about the National Forum of People with Learning Disabilities and why it is so important....
The National Forum met three times a year.
Each representative was supported by a regional forum.
The members of the regional forums found out what the issues were for people in their areas and they shared this at the national forum.
